Zappi EV Charger Installation
Zappi is KeenSpark Electrical’s usual supplied recommendation for many homes, particularly where the customer wants solar-aware charging. Its available modes can use grid power, excess solar generation or a combination, subject to the property, metering and system configuration.
KeenSpark Electrical can supply, install and configure Zappi to suit the assessed switchboard, supply, existing solar system and charging routine. Feature availability and charging output are confirmed for the selected model, vehicle and connection arrangement.
Which EV Charger Is Right for My Home?
The suitable charger depends on the vehicle’s AC charging limit, the property’s supply and switchboard, daily travel, parking location, existing solar, communications, load management and the preferred electricity tariff arrangement.

Single-Phase, Three-Phase and Load Management
For a typical 32 A single-phase charger, Energex requires a compliant managed connection arrangement. Depending on the site, this may involve a network device, a controlled-load arrangement or a compatible dynamic connection. Ordinary household load balancing does not automatically satisfy the network requirement.
A three-phase property may be able to support a 22 kW charger where the equipment switches across all three phases and the electrical assessment confirms suitability. The vehicle may accept a lower AC rate, so charger capacity alone does not determine charging speed.
Energex Connections, Tariffs and Smart Metering
Where Energex notification, a network device or tariff-related work is required, KeenSpark Electrical handles the relevant Electrical Work Request and connection process. Not every charger needs the same process, so the required arrangement is confirmed after assessing the equipment and property.
Charging may be supplied from the primary tariff or, where suitable, a controlled-load arrangement. Your electricity retailer confirms retail pricing, tariff eligibility and meter-change implications. A charger on the primary tariff may also be configured to use excess generation from an existing compatible solar system.
The recommendation is based on the required charging rate, vehicle compatibility, switchboard and supply capacity, network arrangement, communications, existing solar and how you plan to use the charger.
What Affects EV Charger Installation Cost?
Installation cost depends on the charger, parking position, cable length and route, wall or pedestal mounting, switchboard capacity, circuit protection, load management, communications, metering and any Energex-related work.
What We Check Before Quoting
Send the vehicle model, charger model if already selected, switchboard photos, parking location, preferred charger position and information about three-phase supply or existing solar. Ben will advise whether further information or a site inspection is needed before providing upfront pricing.
